I chose Cig Harvey for my Emulation project. Cig Harvey mostly focuses on portraits. Her portraits are unique she has these very interesting set ups that make the portraits a little creepy but cool. The colors and tones in her pictures are what brought my attention to her work. The colors really stand out but the picture is not as saturated. She applies very narrative meaning behind her photos. Her photos also show a lot of emotion.
What I am hoping to focus on in this project are portraits, playing around with different lighting and motion techniques. Also I want to focus on the narrative aspect of the photos, I want to play around with backgrounds in my pictures and different set ups. When editing my photos I want to capture the colors but also with a antique feel. I want to make sure that my colors pop but my photos also have a cool tone.
